With over 35 presenters from eight of the 12 Northwestern schools represented, it would be impossible to fit in presentations from everyone at TEACHx, our new annual event to promote experiments in teaching and learning. Faculty members created interactive digital posters for ten of the projects. They presented these during two sessions during the event, allowing participants time to browse the posters and to engage in conversation with the innovative faculty member. This created a wonderful opportunity to have a dialogue about the material versus just listening to a presentation.
The instructors involved with the projects are members of our Northwestern learning communities. Members of the Educational Technology Teaching Fellows work to establish new methods of teaching utilizing emerging technologies, and members of the Experimental Teaching and Learning Analytics at Northwestern workgroup find new opportunities to utilize data analytics to improve both the classroom experience and the administrative decisions that affect them.
